Carmarthen Quins RFC are delighted to announce the appointment of Ian Gardner as the club’s new Head of Rugby Performance ahead of the upcoming season.
Ian brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role. Professionally, he serves as a Senior Lecturer in Sport and Physical Education at Cardiff Metropolitan University, while his rugby credentials include a highly successful spell as Director of Rugby at Cardiff Metropolitan RFC.
The appointment came about following a chance conversation between Ian and Carmarthen Quins DOR Steff Thomas, which quickly developed into an opportunity the club felt was simply too good to miss.
Speaking on the appointment, Steff Thomas said:
“With a young and ambitious coaching team already in place, our conversation with Ian quickly became an opportunity we knew we had to pursue. He brings outstanding experience, knowledge and professionalism, and his influence will raise standards across our coaching, player development and team preparation.”
